Information that I have found recently indicates that there were some errors in Rev. Outten's narrative on Purnell Outten. Specifically, Rev. Outten has intertwined information about Purnell Outten b.1722 and his son Purnell Outten b.1761. This was apparently due to a number of reasons not the least of which is the fact that Purnell b.1761 selected names for his five children from the names his father choose for his eleven children. The will mentioned in the narrative is actually the will of the younger Purnell. Thus the comment about Purnell not having a brother Joseph is explained. The younger Purnell did have a brother Joseph.
