Maggie A., daughter of James and Mary Lingo Outten, was born April 20, 1832. She married Littleton Smith, and they were the parents of five children.
Alexander Smith died suddenly at ten years of age, and was buried in the Obed Baker graveyard.

Mattie H. Smith married John Rawlins of Wilmington, and they had two sons, Robert and Alexander. She died September 23, 1891, aged 20 years, 7 months and 18 days.
The writer visited the home of Littleton Smith at Middleford, in 1891, while he was the pastor of Concord Circuit. At that time Maggie was greatly afflicted with rheumatism. Her fingers and hands were drawn out of shape, and she was unable to walk. Lum was a widower at that time, and was associated with his father in a store. Littleton Smith died October 19, 1894, aged 69 years, one month, and 29 days. Maggie A. died October 26, 1894, aged 62 years, 6 months, and 4 days. Lum is in the lumber business at Harrington, and he is the only one of Littleton Smith's children now living.
